Perfect golfing weather for October saw a good day of golf for most. Only 8 shots covering 17 golfers with only 3 breaking par. The course was in need of some attention with the grass especially in the first cut being very long. A few lost balls in open play did not help some of the guys in the clutch of the early 30's. Jim had a welcome return to form with a 1 under par 37 securing him 3rd place. And only countback could split Paul & Martin. Second place went to the inform Martin F who continues to keep scoring well since his retirement. A clean sweep on competition wins in division 3, handicap coming down by the event and

heading towards division 2 next season. But the winner and a welcome return to the best golfer in the society was Paul Newsome. His blistering back nine saw 21 points even with a blob on 18. He was a model of consistency hitting the majority of fairways and greens in regulation. Speaking around the clubhouse after many in the high 30's were ruing the missed short puts and poor chips around the green thats how close it was.
