Our opening event could not have gone better. Best day of the year so far for weather, not an ounce of wind, scattered sunshine and 17 degrees. This was backed up by finding a gem of a course (for the price) in the Leicestershire countryside. The tight parkland course was in good condition considering it had been closed most of the week, quite firm under ground considering time of the year and the amount of rain we had. They managed to get out and cut the fairways before we teed off and the greens played well. Pick and place everywhere helped but certainly excellent value with a good breakfast to boot. Onto the golf surprisingly only 4 golfers broke par with Anthony leading the way for a welcome return to winning ways with a single shot victory over Nico, who was a single shot ahead of Patrick (another welcome return to some form) and Bez. Parash and James both ended up on par but threw shots away on the last 3 holes which would have put them firmly in contention. Good to see another another 8 golfers played within their buffer zone, making it almost half the field. The slightly wet conditions (See picture) was probably the difference from many more big scores. 8 Handicap changes from today (6 Blues) has set up Wyder Cup 24 for an interesting weekend.
