Report: The forecast was for rain but after a small downpour while we were having breakfast and some drizzle as the first 4 ball went down the first hole, we got nothing else all day. Dark clouds and very little wind helped but the greens although true were very patchy and slow. The green aprons were also poor but generally the course was decent. We expected many high scores especially after decent front 9s from quite a few golfers but surprisingly only one person broke par. Daryll took full advantage of his 3 shot handicap increase over the early part of the season to take the day with an excellent 5 under par 41 for his first match day victory. Great improvement from the previous few events taking the day easily from second place Gez, who had a solid round of 36. With 21 points on the front nine more was probably expected, but a blob on 10 then a couple of single point scores put paid to the win. But it certainly has put him decent form for the tour to Vilamoura next week. One shot back in third spot was Pete Randle who made it through to the semi finals of the Committee Shield and the division 3 Autumn knockout. Two 4 point scores were evened out with 2 blobs, but with some more consistent putting would have easily made 2nd place. Back in 4th place and certainly mister consistent this year was Steve W. He notched a solid 34points even with his putter not being on song. Good drives finding the fairway on over 80% of the holes was matched with decent approaches.
