Report: The weather saw a cloudy but dry day and warm enough for shirts. The course was in great condition especially the greens that looked and felt like they had been ironed before we played them. They were very fast and true without a blemish anywhere. The course layout although a bit tight worked well and lots of good scores came in for a course that in places was long. Ian H took full advantage by keeping his ball in play with some excellent drives and approach shots for a 3 under par 39 taking the honors by one shot from Steve who's good form continues. His nine pars and one birdie were only spoilt by two blobs on the 1st and 7th holes. Back in third spot was the current societies highest points scorer Andy Whitt. His one under par round of 37 was close, and it was only the two blobs on 4 and 14 that's stopped another match day win. The only other golfer to break par and took fourth place was newcomer Jack Davies, who is fast getting into the grove with some consistency on match days and at the top of a couple of the clubhouse competitions. Certainly worthy of his 15 handicap. If he keeps this up he will be jumping into division one next season.
