Not our first choice of course but nice of them to fit us in at last minute after the late Glen Gorse cancellation, But the conditions only backed up our gut feel with very poor greens and some fairways, agreed partly due to the extremely hot conditions (picture left on the fairway) we have had for some weeks but bad course control and management, with lack of watering (Picture below on the greens) and preparing (I understand a consequence of loosing their head grounds man recently) All that moaning aside the day was beautiful with some scattered clouds breaking up the hot sun and very little breeze. Antony Wale made the most of the dry hard conditions with a good 2 under par round of 38. A great result after blobbing the first two holes. Back in second was James H who notched an excellent par round for the lowest gross of the day. His only blob came on the short par 3, 11th hole. Back in 3rd was Steve W and Wiggy who both notched a creditable 35 points for a 1 over par. Both had a couple of blobs that just took them away from top spot. Mark C is worth a mention with another massively improved performance of 5 over par (31 points and only 3 blobs) for his first ever top 10 finish. Just the type of course for a short but straight hitting golfer.
