A challenging course coupled with a windy but nice day gave all the ingredients for it to be a tight affair. Only one golfer broke par and only two others playing within their buffer zone. Lots of close scores with 6 golfers scoring 30 points and 9 golfers getting 27 points. Division 3s lowest handicapper James Little took the spoils with a good score of 37 points. 21 points on the front nine and 16 on the more difficult back nine was only spoilt with two sloppy blobs on the back nine. Second spot went to Whitt who hit a bit of form with 34 points. Only the 1 blob but too many single point scores to trouble the winner. Back in 3rd place was Antony Wale with 32 points. He notched 3 pars but with 4 blobs it was always going to be a tall order to get the win. Today also saw the last 16 of the committee shield with some comprehensive wins around, and two golfers getting through to the quarter finals without playing a match. Hopefully they will all turn up at the next event at Feldon Valley. Also it was great to see Dale join us to get some fresh air and catch up with the society members. He had a little knock on the back nine (Video available) which was excellent to see and hopefully we will see more of him at future events.
