A
very windy but thankfully dry day saw a wide range of performances. The
best of the day came from club captain Pete with a solid round
comprising of 9 pars and a birdie for his 45points.
Next
came new society member Brian (Left) with one of his best rounds ever,
made up of 7 pars and no blobs and using his two shots a hole to full
effect with a couple of nett eagles. Slotting into 3rd place was off
course Gez who had a slightly below average front nine going out in 47,
he then came to life with a vengeance on the back 9. Six pars and a
birdie in 7 holes was only spoilt with a single and double bogey either
side to finish the back 9 in a superb 37 for a haul of 40points. Despite
all that Gez had a good old moan about the course complaining there was
too much concrete!!
Steve W and Jim C both continued there good form with another solid
round both playing slightly better than there handicaps, ending up with
a 38 and 37 respectively. Jim (right) chipping on to the green at
the 18th after just finishing on the waters edge. The only other person to play to or
better than his handicap was Bez who posted a solid par round of
36points.
As for those
who will wish to forget the day was top society handicap man Craig who
had a absolute nightmare with 8 blobs, 5 nett pars and only 1 nett
birdie for his total of 15pts.
Below Dave W
and Sean A looking pensive watching the other guys teeing off at the
first. Dave ended up with a below average round of 29 while Sean was
pretty steady with 32;
Cam had
another up and down round with his normal mixture of power and lost
balls. After a relaxing holiday his wayward hitting started from the
first but a good back nine pulled his score back to a respective 32
points.
Krys and Lee
both had poor days in the wind ending up with 24 and 26 respectfully.
