Match Day Organizer Andy Whittaker

Match Day Report

The day got off to an all to predictable start with Bullet crying off late the night before and Jacko dropping out only half an hour before meeting, with a football related injury.

When arriving Match Day Organizer Whitt had organized the pre match food, which was disposed of rather quickly before moving on to the range and putting green for some practice.

Gez at the 12th made a nice approach to the green but unfortunately landed on the temporary green. The local rules say you are allowed a drop but Gez decided a Toss from the side of his hand was Ok, if this was not enough he then proceeded to pick and place the ball. This has been noted as gross misconduct and future neglect for the rules will be punished. Dale who was one of the people who witnessed this incident was not squeaky clean himself, with a little nudge of the ball on the eighth which was kindly ignored by his playing partners.

Match day organizer Whitt brought along a camera to snap some of the days highlights. On meeting up

with the last four ball at the 10th Whitt spotted a ball just by the water in the semi rough thinking it was Cam's he raced over to take the picture shown on the left. Shouting over to Cam "Got the picture" but was horrified to see him lining up to chip towards the green. Probably not a bad idea he works with money. Look on the bright side the picture is in focus just!!

New members Dave and Mark had a good round that was spoilt with a couple of 10s at the problematic 10th.

Shaun had another battling round playing some good shots from time to time but consistency still seems to be his problem. Anthony ended up winning the stableford on count back from Pete & Gez. His round was steady with only the odd blip, but a top tee shot on the 18th leaving it 10ft from the pin clinched it for him. Top society man Paul N had another solid sub 90 round made up of 7 pars. Three 9s and two 8s was the main reason for a 14 over par 112 for Cam. He is struggling for consistency and confidence at the moment; just like his favorite football team Newcastle.
