Today saw the best day of the year so far. Hazy sunshine (thank god) and no wind combined well with the course looking and playing excellent. This was all the ingredients needed for a good day of golf. We were not let down with no fewer than 10 people playing better than their handicaps and over 75% of the field breaking the 30 point barrier. Unfortunately we still had a handful of guys who for them it was just a bad day at the office. John H, Rob W and Jim C just cant get their season going again ending up in the unfashionable high 20's. All the winter practice has not seen a consistent round from any of them, but I am sure they are ready to put that right at the next event. Albatross golfer Mark P and Craig W and an unsurprising off day on a course that promised a lot. Gez N and Dave B continued there solid start to the season both playing within their handicap to be battling it out at the top of the Albatross League. |

Cam came out of his winter break dusting down the old bats to come off with a solid 35 points to start his seasons challenge. A handful of the Eagle League golfers notched up some impressive scores with Brian D, Anthony H and Dave W bringing home an impressive 39 points each. All 3 guys bagged a couple of 4 pointers each with hardly a blob in sight. Anthony's good start has continued now on 103 points for the season only 1 point behind the overall top scorer in the society Gez on 104. Winner on the day saw Krys J shoot up to second place in the Birdie League with his impressive 43 points. Greg W, Dale G and Paul B all got there season into shape with a solid round. Greg's 38 takes him into mid table in the Albatross league while Dale's par round of 36 moves him to third place hot on the heels of the top 2. While Paul B starts to move up the Birdie League with his slightly better than par round of 37. Paul N's below average round still saw him pick up two prizes on the day finishing two points clear in the captains combo and nearest the pin in one. James L had a good day, seeing his best score of the season so far 34 fit in nicely with winning nearest the pin in two. Jim C set the early pace in the first group only being 6 feet away, but James ended up comfortably inside that mark for his first prize of his short society career (Lets hope there more to come) Chris S posted his best score for almost 2 seasons with a solid 34 looks like his practice over the winter is starting to pay off. New associate guest members had a mixed start to their WGGC career with Adi and Richard both posting scores in the 40's but Andy L struggling on 23, a few more events and a tweak to his handicap will get him back on track. Oh I suppose I should mention myself a very good round of 41 seen no blobs and two gross birdies to go with my 5 pars, this was badly needed after a poor opening weekend event. |

Action shots of society members at Forest Hill unfortunately some of the rounds did not match up to the style on the opening hole. From left to right you can see in action: Cam - Wiggy - Paul N - Tommo - Greg W - Gez N - Andy G - Jimbo and John H. |
