What a fantastic day for golf at Walsall, a really nice society course that, surprisingly, we haven't played in our 20 plus years. Its central location makes it very accessible for all, and the course conditions matched the high quality of the golf played. The field was in excellent form, with three-quarters of the players scoring in the thirties or better. Many impressive rounds were recorded, with two golfers matching par and six breaking it. Just three points behind the leaders with 38 points were three golfers: Whitt, Kevin F, and John H each a little shy due to a few too many blobs. Third place went to Blue Team Captain Chris, whose 3-under-par round was close to victory. However, the 15th and 17th holes proved costly, ultimately denying him the top spot. Two golfers tied on an excellent 5-under-par score. Wiggy started strongly, setting the pace with 22 points on the front nine, despite a blob. His back nine continued well, reaching 38 points after 16 holes. Unfortunately, the par-4 17th was his undoing with a blob, costing him vital points. The winner was Division Three golfer Jeff Winters, claiming his first match day victory. His 5-under-par round featured only one blob, with four pars and mostly bogey golf—an impressive performance. His strong finish, rolling in 22 points on the back nine, made the difference and secured his victory.
