Handicap Changes after today here

A blustery day with the odd trickle of rain was all we had for our visit to Cotswold's. The course was in acceptable condition for the time of the year and some good golf was played. Two thirds of the field ended up with their score starting with three, so overall that odd 3 putt, fluffed chip or wayward drive had a big impact on your finishing position.

Two golfers ended up on level par, Anthony H back playing some decent golf and a rare, good round from the captain Pete. Four golfers’ broke par with Kirk taking forth place with his one over par 37, his 2nd best round to date in the society, suspect plenty more to come as he gains in confidence.

Then we found ourselves with three golfers Gez, Paresh and Martin all finishing on an excellent 3 under par (39). Countback came in to play which meant Paz took third place with only 18 on the back nine but the best front nine of the day with 21. No blobs on the day but a bogey on the 18th stopped him from taking first place. That left Martin and Gez who both carded 20 on the front nine and 19 on the back nine. Gez lipped a birdie on the 18th and Martin blobbed the 17th which would have given one of them a single shot victory. So, it went down to countback on the last 6 holes. The pivotal hole was the par 4/stroke index 2 13th, which Martin parred for 4 points to give him the days victory. Well done Martin but tough on Gez who has now finished 2nd on countback twice this season, and to add insult to injury got himself a one-shot Index cut to 12.5.
