A beautiful day for golf at a big resort. All but with the massive refurbishment going on nothing was open. Our first event with no breakfast and limited signage at the course made a few people turn up very close to the start time. (in fact I did not even see some people) something we do not want to repeat. But to make up for all of that the greens were excellent. Most of them were very big with a potential of 2 club lengths from one end to the other. They played very true and had some nice shape and in immaculate condition, with no patches or blemishes.

A couple of quirky but nice holes certainly made you think about your club selection, and with only 8 points separating two thirds of the field it had a bearing on your finishing position. 9th place gave you only one under par which was held by some 5 golfers. Finishing on Par gave Anthony H 4th spot, with the top three all breaking par (but only just) A very consistent Gez secured 3rd spot on count back from Antony W, who without his very slow start would have taken the day at a canter. But the winner was the straight hitting Tommo with a 2 under par round of 38. 8 Pars, a birdie and 2 blobs made up his round off a solid base of 21 from the first 9. (But still only four point clear of 11th, close day, those big greens probably made the difference)
