Our pre tour event traditional sets the handicaps for the tour with this year handing a big advantage to the Blues. Taking top spot on the day was top man Paul N, whose gross 77 and 40 Stableford points cemented his place as our lowest handicapper by moving him down another stroke to 8. Back in second place was the Sean Wynne who's second appearance of the year was good practice for the tour with a 38 point hall also cutting him by one stroke. A birdie and 3 pars helped a generally solid round. Back in third place was Chris Shaw, No surprise to anyone with him romping away with everything on division 2 and looks like taking a couple of the other "Clubhouse Competitions" His par score of 36 kept his handicap intact for the tour but moved him closer to the prestigious "Grand Prix" title. The only other golfer not to go over par was Gez, who passage to the "Committee Shield" final was a hard fort affair with a 2 & 1 win over the rapidly improving James H, who himself was only one shot back on 35 points. Both guys had 20 points on the back nine holes, but James had a sluggish start.

No one else broke par but Paddy continues his winning streak in the "Committee Shield" this time taking the scalp of Division One OOM contender Craig W. Beating him 1UP with 34 Stableford points, he highest score in the society to date. So after beating three Division one players to get to the final, an all Irish affair will decide the winner, with Gez standing in the way of the honours after an excellent performance from Paddy, certainly helped along the way with his trendy dress sense (Left :-) The wrong end of the table saw Dale continue his bad run of form, which he hopes will change as he takes his Red team off to Marbella for the 15th Wyder Cup.

So with the tour looming 5 golfers had handicap changes who will be travelling to Spain. Overall it was 9 point swing to the Blues over the 3 days. Checkout the results and see who went where.
