A dry warm muggy day saw division 3 golfer Krys Jilks end up 3 shots clear after turning in a round of 42 stableford points. His round saw a blob on each nine, but with 24 points after nine holes made up of three 4 points holes, it was always going to end up a 40 plus round. Back in second was the improving Andy Whitt (woody) who's 39 points saw no blobs and six holes of three points. Consistency all round was the secret, no wild tee shots some good long puts and consistent approach shots has moved him up to 3rd place in division 2 and through to the semi final in the autumn knockout. A further shot back was division one golfer Dave T (Tommo) who after his round of 38 has moved to be the society lowest handicapper off 12.6. His gross round of 83 was the lowest of the day, with only the par 3 14th causing Dave his only blob of the day.

Just one shot back was 4 golfers who where all overdue a good round. There one shot better than par 37 saw them put together good rounds. Mark Beswick stormed through the back nine with 23 points after back to back blobs on 8 and 9 saw a below average front nine 14 points. Paul Newsome has found some consistency on society days with a solid round which took shape around the turn with 4 par's in succession on 8,9,10 & 11. Another 3 pars in the last 7 holes made it a good day at the office. Mark Poultney registered his best round since August 2008. Starting of with 16 points after 6 holes with 5 of them being par's, he must of thought he was on for a massive points hall. Back to back blobs on 7 and 8 restricted him to level par 18 points after nine. The back nine being far more consistent and yielding one point more after no blobs and 3 more pars. Wiggy's best round of the season saw no blobs and a nice balanced card of 18 and 19 points for each set of nine.

Sean A must have been pleased with his round of par 36. He notched 3 blobs but made up for them with pars on 3,4 & 6. Lee Underhill (blunders) weighed in with an impressive round of 35 which could have been far better if his short game was working. Two many poor chips and loose puts stopped this being an even better round. His frustration almost got the better of him on the 12th with Anthony H being in the wrong place at the wrong time, where was he going to put that putter (See picture above left)

Brothers Greg & Craig W continue to put together solid rounds both notching 35. No blobs for either and a scattering of pars kept them just under par. Jim C also weighed in with 35 points. His round contained one of the four birdies on the day for 4 points and another on the stroke index 2 9th.

Couple of rounds to forget for Nico & Brian Dudley. Nico who gets married next week obviously had his mind on other things, with far to many balls in the trees. Brian on the other hand just could not get going. No pars and some erratic iron play made this a day to forget.
