AGM 2010

Our 2009 AGM meeting  took place on Tuesday December 28th 2010 at the Devonshire Arms public house. Details of agreed additions and modifications are shown below. Attendees: Peter Shaw, Gez Newsome, Dale Green, Andy Whittaker, Steve Whiston, Anthony Harding, Paul Newsome, Chris Shaw

• Accounts were presented and agreed as correct. It was decided to distribute the £360 tour refund we received from Marbella Golf & Country Club amongst all those that went on the 2009 tour to Spain. Pete will add £20 to the individuals society account.

• Annual Handicap Review (See detailed review formula here)

  • Maximum society handicap of 28 came into effect from today. James Little, Krys Jilks, Sean Anderson, Lee Underhill, Andy Leitch & Andy Gordon

  • Steve Whiston has his handicap reduced by 0.6 to 14.0

  • Jim Cunningham has his handicap cut by 1.3 to 17.3

  • Paul Newsome has his handicap cut by 0.4 to 10.3

  • John Howard has his handicap increased by 2 to 22.0

  • Chris Shaw has his handicap increased by 1.2 to 28.0

• New member Mark Cassels will join division 3 on a handicap of 28.0. This will be reviewed after 3 events. mark will not be able to win a match day until he has submitted 3 cards and been issued with an official society handicap. All other scores accrued with this temporary handicap will stand.

• All handicap buffer zones and incremental values remain the same. (See details here)

• 32 golfers start the season in full, with one associate. The 3 Division format remains and is made up of 10 golfers in Division One & Two, with 12 in Division 3

  • Steve Whiston & Greg Whatsize move up to Division One (Handicap Range of 0 to 14)

  • Paul Cameron & Graham Aulton move up to Division Two (Handicap Range of 15 to 25)

  • Sean Wynne, Kevin Wynne, Jeff Winters, & Mark Cassels all join Division 3 (Handicap Range of 25 to 28)

  • Mark Poultney has left the society and Rich Davis has moved to the associate member section.

• Pairs Championship

  • It was decided to allow the 2010 winners to defend their title (Andy Whittaker & Steve Whiston)

  • It was agreed to keep the semi final format but they will not play together until the final

  • It was agreed that the final should be Match Play format

• The "Committee Shield" final has been brought forward so the final is played in October, where it was agreed that the finalists play together on that match day and the format again to be Match Play

• It was agreed to drop the Powerplay competition after its first year trial.

• New event added to the playing calendar. March 19th at Whitfield's

  • This is a warm up event after the Winter break

  • Low key prizes and Nearest the Pins only

  • No handicap changes or scores towards individual or team competitions.

• It was agreed if we could secure the same price & deal at Hill Valley we book the 2012 date while we are there.

• 2011 golf days presented and agreed by everyone.

• It was agreed to purchase some more nearest the pin markers
